Dana Eiland was running away from the United Dirt Late Model Challenge Series field and headed to a certain win at Penton until a tire went flat with seven laps to go. Travis Pennington inherited the lead and held off Terrance Nowell for the win.
Jason Fitzgerald, forced to the rear of the field after a lap 2 altercation, rode his his Bobby Labonte #7 race car back to third place and was threatening the leaders in the closing laps. UDLMCS points leader Mark Whitener has to sit out tonight's race after blowing his engine during practice. He said simply, "That's racing". He has a motor on the way for tomorrow night's UDLMCS race at nearby East Alabama Motor Speedway.
Last year's UDLMCS champion Johnny Collins and #32 Phillip Cobb also had issues which kept of the starting field.
Saturday night the UDLMCS moves to nearby East Alabama Motor Speedway for a 50 lap $4000 to win feature.
